Spanish and Hindi are reportedly the two most widely spoken non-English languages among American physicians.
Doximity, a social network for doctors, last week released the results of a study which found that 36.2 percent of multilingual physicians speak Spanish and 13.8 percent, Hindi.
The other languages that made the top five were French, Persian/ Farsi, and Chinese.

Of the estimated 950,000 physicians in the United States, 100,000 are of Indian origin, Maryland urologist Dr. Navin Shah told The Hindustan Times.
70,000 of those, Dr. Shah estimated, were trained in India and emigrated to the U.S.
Dr. Shah is co-founder of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.
Spanish (61.5 percent) and Hindi (5.8 percent) were also the two most popular non-English languages among bilingual patients, according to the Doximity study. They were followed by Chinese (5.3 percent), French (3.3 percent), and Filipino/ Tagalog (3.3 percent).
